Lettuce Eat Well Farmers’ Market Moves to Harvest Home Park. After a successful first season held on the grounds of JOY Community Church in Monfort Heights, the Lettuce Eat Well Farmers’ Market (LEWFM) management team has decided to offer a year-round market instead of closing in the fall. The new location will be in Cheviot at Harvest Home Park, 3961 North Bend Road. Opening day at the new location will be October 15th. Harvest Home offers a perfect setting for a year-round market. While weather permits you can stroll through the paved and shaded market grounds sampling a variety of locally and sustainably produced foods, and make purchases from the many items available from the market vendors. As the weather turns cold the market will move indoors so shoppers can continue to enjoy the market without interruption. The Lettuce Eat Well Farmers’ Market is one of the few year-round markets in the region.

Shoppers will be able to purchase both locally grown food items and craft items made by local artisans. All fruits and vegetables at LEWFM are grown without the use of synthetic chemicals. LEWFM vendors also offer breads, cheeses, jams, pesto, pickles, relishes, homemade sweets, local honey, brown eggs from pastured chickens, a variety of pastured meats, fresh herbs and plants, mohair yarn, quilted items, candles, homemade soaps, candles and jewelry, homemade doggie treats, Native American style handmade flutes, and many more items not listed here.

Market days and times will continue to be Fridays 3-7 P.M. through November 19. After that date, LEWFM management plans to offer the market twice a month during the winter. For a complete listing of winter market dates (after those dates are determined) and for further information please visit the market website at www.lewfm.org or call Karen Kerst (513) 661-1792 or Mary Hutten (513) 481-1914.

UPDATE: February 25, 2011
After temporarily relocating on January 14th indoors at the Cheviot United Methodist Church, the market returns to Harvest Home Park on March 11th. Please check www.lewfm.org for updates.
