K-9 Unit

The Cheviot Police Department has a K-9 unit within the department. Thanks to donations from the public, Cheviot School and grants through the Matt Haverkamp Foundation the Department is able to fund the program. Sergeant Jeff Patton has maintained the program since its inception in 2008, and he is currently training our second dog (Kuno), due to the recent retirement of our first dog (Charlie).

Charlie was trained by Police Dog Services in Germantown, Ohio and was certified on February 25, 2009. Charlie is retiring in 2017, and being replaced by Kuno.  The department is still accepting donations to fund the K-9 program.
